As our Backend Developer Intern, you’ll help power the “engine room” of StayingBee — the APIs, databases, and integrations that keep everything running smoothly.
You’ll work closely with our product and frontend teams to design, build, and optimize the systems that make our community-based accommodation platform fast, reliable, and scalable.
- Develop and maintain backend features for StayingBee’s platform
- Design and integrate RESTful or GraphQL APIs
- Work with databases (PostgreSQL) to store and retrieve data efficiently
- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless functionality
- Help optimize quality, performance, scalability, and security
- Experiment with cloud hosting and backend-as-a-service tools (Supabase, AWS, etc.)
- Write clean, maintainable code with version control (Git/GitHub)
- Basic knowledge of Typescript or another backend language
- Understanding of APIs (REST or GraphQL basics)
- Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar)
- Curiosity for scalable, secure backend systems
- Bonus: experience with Supabase, AWS or GCP
- Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts
- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment
- Hands-on experience building real backend systems for a global startup
