Home is your safe space. It’s where you can unwind, feel safe, and be your most authentic self.
We understand that opening your home to someone new, or stepping into someone else’s requires a level of trust that goes beyond a typical hotel stay.
Trust plays a central role in StayingBee’s mission. We believe that meaningful, community-driven travel is only possible when people feel respected, supported, and safe.
To build and maintain that trust, we want to explain how it actually works on StayingBee:
- Before your stay
- During your stay
- How we support trust
- If something isn’t right
- Trust as a shared responsibility
We want our hosts and guests to feel confident using the platform, knowing the person on the other side is who they say they are, and that expectations are clear from the start.
Trust is built long before the stay begins. Being honest about who you are, your community ties and communicating clearly helps set a solid foundation for a positive, meaningful stay. On StayingBee, trust is built through:
Users are encouraged to create profiles with recent photos and accurate information about who they are, their interests, and their community experience.
Hosts must include an accurate description of their space, amenities and what they’re offering. Clear listings help set expectations and reduce uncertainty for the guest.
We verify all users who apply to join a community. We ask members about their affiliation and require supporting documents where necessary.
Hosts and guests must communicate before the stay to confirm booking details, arrival times, and requests. Clear communication before a stay helps ensure everyone feels prepared, respected and aligned.
Respecting each other, the home you’re sharing, and personal boundaries helps maintain trust and paves the way for a smooth stay.
We ask all hosts and guests to follow our Community Guidelines while using the platform. Here’s what we expect from all members during a stay:
- Respect any agreed-upon house rules and expectations, like arrival times and quiet hours
- Treat your host, their home and their culture with care and respect
- Communicate openly with your host if any issues occur during your stay
- Uphold house rules and boundaries throughout the stay
- Ensure your home is clean, safe, and that listed amenities are in good working order
- Be responsive, approachable and available if your guest has any questions or concerns
Trust on StayingBee is a shared responsibility. We ask all users to be honest about the nature of their stay, the condition of their home, and clearly communicate with one another.
Trust only works when we’re reliable and respect each other’s boundaries.
We support trust on StayingBee through a combination of shared values, clear expectations, and platform safeguards.
In practice, this means creating an environment where members know who they’re staying with, can trust their community affiliation, and know where to turn if further support is needed.
Each community has their own verification process to prove affiliation to that community. This may include providing proof of membership to help ensure that everyone on the platform is who they say they are.
StayingBee is built around closed-communities. You may only join a community once you apply and your verification is confirmed. This is to maintain trust, safety and accountability across the platform.
Our community guidelines outline what’s expected from both hosts and guests, helping set clear boundaries, avoid misunderstandings, and support respectful stays. We encourage all members to read through them before using the platform.
Should you experience any issues during or after your stay, you can report it to our team. Whether it’s a concern about safety or behaviour that goes against our Community Guidelines, we’re here to listen, support and take action when necessary.
