Hey Hosts 👋 we’re sure you get a ton of messages from guests to book your space.
But have you ever received a message from a guest asking to book from outside the platform?
If you’ve felt tempted to follow through, don’t! There’s a few things you should know before you consider accepting such requests.
Taking bookings or accepting payments outside the platform is unnecessary, unsafe and will get you banned from StayingBee.

Here’s why you should never accept a booking or take payment outside of StayingBee.
As a host on StayingBee you get 100% of the host fee. Whatever price you set for your listing is yours.
There’s no hidden fees or costs. Your listing price = all yours.
If a guest tries to lure you off the site to make payment, don’t bother. There is no benefit to you to do this. In fact, you may lose money if there’s an issue with the payment or you end up getting scammed.
If that happens, we can’t help you. So don’t do it!
For every 10th guest you host, you’ll receive one free stay. Great right?
However, any payments or bookings arranged off the platform will not count towards the reward programme.
Keep your listings on StayingBee and make sure your guest pays through our designated payment service. Don’t lose out on your free stay!
Stayingbee takes host and guest safety seriously.
When you sign-up to the platform to host, be a guest, or join a community we verify your identity to ensure you are who you say you are and are a genuine community member.
Hosts who list their home off of StayingBee lose out on guest and community verification. This can put your safety at risk, which we do not endorse.
Keep yourself and your home safe. Only accept bookings through the platform!
When you host on StayingBee, your payment is processed automatically within 24-hrs via Stripe. But if you arrange payment outside the platform, there’s no guarantee when you’ll get paid.
Why wait around for your money when you can get paid in 24-hrs?
As a host, you agree to follow our terms and conditions and the platform rules.
Failure to follow these rules and conditions will result in a ban for both the host and the guest.
Once you’re banned, you can’t re-join the platform.
To help us keep you, your fellow hosts and the platform safe, we are offering a 10 euro reward in BeeCoin for reporting guests who try to lure you off the platform.
So if you get any messages from guests trying to book over Whatsapp or arranging payment from another service — report them to us immediately.

Here are some basics on how to list your space and host the right way.
Treat your guest as you’d like to be treated. Ensure your space is tidy, meets safety standards and listed amenities are all in good working order.
Whether you’re listing a bed, a room or your whole living space — make sure your listing matches your pictures and describes what you’re actually offering. Don’t get too creative.
Price your listing so you cover your costs and then some — but not so much that you put-off potential guests. StayingBee is about affordable travel after all.
List your full address so your guest can find your place easily. There’s nothing more stressful than arriving in a new country and not knowing where your accommodation is.
And give your guests clear check-in instructions to make the process even easier — for everyone!
Regularly update your calendar to reflect your space’s availability. Avoid booking conflicts and penalty fees for last-minute cancellations if your listing becomes unavailable.
Don’t keep potential guests on their edge of their seat! Respond to booking requests within 24-hrs. A quick response and confirmation can make your guest’s upcoming travel plans smooth and stress-free.
And of course — enjoy your time with your guest, on your terms.
