With BeeCommunity, that's changed. BeeCommunity is StayingBee’s new open community. If you believe in intentional, human travel but lacked the network or affiliation to join before — BeeCommunity is for you. Here's everything you need to know.
BeeCommunity is a community-driven travel network built for verified members of StayingBee.
You don’t need to prove your alumni status. You don’t need to be part of an active community. And you don’t require an invitation to join. BeeCommunity is a place where shared values, interests, and personality compatibility matter more than previous community affiliation. And of course, a belief in safer, more affordable, and human travel experiences matter.
Already part of an existing community like AIESEC, CEMS, or Erasmus? You're welcome here too. BeeCommunity is open to all verified StayingBee members.
BeeCommunity is for travelers seeking experiences beyond the destination and accommodation. For hosts who want to get to know their guests on a personal level — not just a transactional one. For anyone who puts trust, respect, and genuine connection first. Simply put, it’s for real people who value safety, affordability and human connection when they travel.
It's not for everyone though. If you’re a commercial operator, property manager, or operate your accommodation as a business, BeeCommunity isn't for you.
Joining BeeCommunity on StayingBee is simple and straightforward. Just follow the steps below and once you’re verified, you can list your space or start looking for stays.
BeeVerification is how we make sure every BeeCommunity member is who they say they are. All StayingBee communities are built on trust — and trust can't exist without honesty. This matters even more in BeeCommunity, where members don't already come from a shared network or affiliation. It's also how we keep the community high-quality and full of people who joined for the right reasons.
The verification process includes document checks, photo verification, and email and address confirmation.
Think of your BeeAvatar like a Zodiac sign — a snapshot of your personality expressed as one of 16 BeeTypes, but based on your travel style. By taking a short quiz, you'll discover which type fits you based on your personality, interests, and values.
And it feeds directly into our AI matchmaking tool, helping us pair you with hosts and guests you're genuinely likely to connect with.
BeeTypes are the 16 personality profiles your BeeAvatar can map to, grouped into 4 categories: Social, Calm & Grounded, Adventurous & Independent, and Thoughtful & Purposeful.
Under the Social category, for example, you might be a Curious Connector, Social Butterfly, Community Builder, or Cultural Storyteller — it all depends on your personality and you’re honest answers to the quiz questions. Basically, your BeeType gives fellow members a sense of who you are at a glance.

Our AI matchmaking tool uses your BeeAvatar insights to highlight your most compatible connections. If you're sociable and love spending time with your host or guest, for example, you're more likely to be matched with someone who shares that same energy.
That said, the suggestions are just suggestions. The final decision is always yours. You'll see which members are highly compatible, somewhat compatible, or a lower match, and if compatibility is low, you'll get a note explaining why.
